We are fortunate to have six KDEF sponsored students enrolled at the Irene School in Samburu County, Kenya.
Listen to Father Peter, Director of the Irene School, as he shares what the opportunity of education means to the students we support:
“Giving the opportunity of education to these girls means a lot. It means they are able to run away from retrogressive cultural practices such as female genital mutilation, early marriages and early pregnancies which eventually means they are running away from poverty, runny away from illiteracy and running to development, running to a brighter future, running to make themselves better, making a better future for themselves”.
Through the financial support of many generous donors, KDEF currently has 50 students enrolled in Secondary Schools throughout Kenya giving needy students from Northern Kenya the gift of hope and a chance for a brighter future.
